Running Tales was formed in 2020 as part of founder Michelle Lewis' Step Forward With Lewis fitness and running business.
It started life solely as a podcast, with Michelle presenting the original episodes while husband Craig produced and edited them.
Later, in November 2022, the pod spurned a Substack newsletter and website.
In 2024, the original Running Tales Podcast was mothballed, with it instead becoming part of the Everyday Athlete Podcast Network.
This group of seven individual podcasts is run by our partners at Run, Tri, Bike magazine.
Running Tales is part of the Everyday Athlete Podcast Network, brought to you by Run, Tri, Bike magazine.
We have been part of the Everyday Athlete Podcast since June 2024, a move which allowed us to broadcast live across a host of social media channels and to share a platform with some brilliant podcasts including Joe Hardin's Beyond The Finish Line, Run, Tri, Bike's Fireside Chat, and Food Fight Friday at the Aid Station.
Prior to that, we independently produced more than 100 episodes of Running Tales, each one telling the extraordinary stories of everyday athletes.
Our Substack newsletter, 'Running Tales: After all is said and run' was an expansion on the podcast, created with the aim of bringing our stories to a wider audience across a new format.
We not only write up in-depth articles based on our podcast conversations, but also include stories looking at some of the big issues in the running world.
From topics such as how to avoid injury when running to conversations about the safety of running early in the morning we aim to provide unique, nuanced and interesting content.
